2018, a race between two officials, a republican Brian Kemp and democrat Stacey Abrams. This is where we’ll begin.
Georgia is quite possibly a swing state in this 2020 presidential race. So would our great state really leave the most desired state official seat to a man, who explicitly said in his campaign commercials he’d round up illegals in his pickup truck and drive them back himself? The one who opposed the strictest abortion laws, basically barring women from having any say so over their bodies? In short, the guy’s an idiot. And no Georgian who is in their right mind can say they stand for this man.
In case you didn’t know, Brian Kemp did not win the 2018 Gubernatorial Election in Georgia. It was won by Stacey Abrams. Former Secretary of State Kemp was in charge of Georgia elections, so his fate was in his own hands. He resigned from the position for one reason and one reason only: he KNEW that he would be the taker of then governor Nathan Deal’s seat, whether that be legally or illegally.
In October of 2018, Abrams demanded that Kemp step down from Secretary of State amidst his running for Georgia Governor, which he failed to do (cnn).
“Just days before the 2018 gubernatorial election here in Georgia, Brian Kemp publicly accused the state Democratic Party of trying to hack into the state’s election system and rig the final outcome. His campaign condemned the alleged hacking attempt as ‘a fourth-quarter Hail Mary pass that was intercepted in the end zone’ by state staff, and demanded that ‘these power-hungry radicals … be held accountable for their criminal behavior.’” (Georgia Recorder)
Following these accusations which belonged his own, an investigation was issued, finding no foul play in the Democratic Party. This was in fact doings by none other than his own campaign as front seat of the Secretary of State.
Did Brian P. Kemp, 83rd and current governor of the state of Georgia rig the election by suppressing votes? Absolutely.
And now he’s suppressing lives.
In the rise of this coronavirus pandemic, Kemp seemed to be on the right track. Closing down schools and anything that wasn’t a necessity for Georgians, all good. In mid-April, he started opening back up the state. Opening things that shouldn’t be open even now: gyms, salons, bowling alleys, open dining, all with little to no restrictions. On April 20th, he even went as far to say that they had just learned that Covid could be passed through asymptomatic people. As if we weren’t told that all along.
Fast forward to July. After stating that he would not issue a mask mandate for our state, multiple mayors fell in line to begin issuing one in the walls of their cities. This started in Savannah, and included Athens and Atlanta as well as others.
July 15th, Kemp failed Georgians yet again. He renewed the plan of economical reopening. What else did he do?
Brian Kemp voided all mask mandates issued by mayors calling them unlawful. I can’t imagine that a mask mandate is more unlawful than suppressing votes.
Sane Georgians have issued a hue and cry to our governor.
Brian Kemp has blood on his hands. He’s committing murder and has axed the lives of over 3,000 Georgia residents and counting.
So where does it end? When will it be time for the Georgians to be on his watch? Our guess is never.
Mayor of Atlanta Keisha Lance Bottoms, who is in talks of being one of Joe Bidens VP picks, encourages all Atlanta residents to continue to wear masks after being shut down. I encourage that you do the same, whether you’re a Georgia resident or anywhere in the United States.
Recall Kemp.
